My doctors insite on my Rocky 100 race…

So, per docs orders, still no running for me until I am completely done with my antibiotics. That day will be tomorrow, woot!  I asked the doc what her thoughts were about me attempting to run my Rocky 100 race.  

Her response to my question in order:

  1. LOL,LOL,LOL
  2. Well, I wouldn’t do it but…you never can tell a runner what to do!  (She is an avid marathoner.)
  3. Your heart looked good on the CT so I don’t think you will die from trying.
  4. You WILL NOT MAKE IT!  (I kind of LOLed at this one, but most likely true.)
  5. Go ahead and try it if you want to.
  6. You can see how far you get before you DNF.  
  7. You could relapse since your immune system will be compromised after running that long…but you will still have antibiotics in your system.     
  8. Try a few runs next week and see how it goes.  
  9. Let me know if you decide to run the race.
  10. It will be interesting to see how far you make it.

I love having a runner doc! Oh, and number 4 is may favorite response.

I shall attempt to run on Saturday if everything keeps moving forward.  That will be my first run in over 15 days.
