12 Miles. Ready, Set, Go!
Well I will try to do half or so on the mill before the family gets up then the test will have to come later in the day. Keeping up your mileage on vacation and is hard work.
My 12 miles...
didn’t happen today! Just too tired. We have been moving crap all over the house. I do have two good things to report. First, the car now fits into the garage. Second and most important, the treadmill got delivered this afternoon! No more missing miles because of snow or darkness or what ever else excuse I try to tell myself.
The internet is back and so a I!!
I got my office part way set up now so I should be able to post more. I will give a running recap tomorrow. It will be short…just like my runs have been. :)
Also, I have not been able to read my dash for the past few days either. If I have missed anything I really need to read please let me know. I will try to go back and catch most of it but just incase.
Good my night tumblr peeps.
The wheels just keep falling off.
I am going to call it official and say I am suffering from overtraining.
This is what I have found out on the subject.
As overtraining progresses, imbalance worsens. Specifically, the sympathetic part of the nervous system becomes overactive. This results in the classic sign of an increased resting heart rate. Many athletes become aware of this if they regularly train with a heart monitor. They...
bigfatshoe asked: Dude, your training and race recap are SO awesome and inspirational! At one point, I want to run an ultra or two. I saw that you're running the Goofy Challenge in Orlando. Are you also doing Ben's DoLife Meet Up? I'm gonna be there because I only live a couple hours from Orlando. - Shoe
Delayed
…in Dallas because of weather in the Rock. Little Rock is showing 1/8 mile visibility, 100 foot indefinite ceiling. It would be nice to see the ground before hitting it.
Been really busy the last few days. I will have to play catch up later. The really short is: My runs have not been that great since my 100k. Shorter and slower than I need them to be. Also, I am not going to use my running schedule this week either. I need another easy week for recovery. My legs feel great and I have no soreness, but when I get out about 7+ miles I just die. I run out of...
The Cajun Coyote 100K Race Recap
So, this 100k was my first ultra race ever to compete in. I guess I should have started off with a 50k or something just north of a marathon but that distance didn’t seem to fit my schedule and I normally don’t follow the norm that well anyway.
The background
I had originally planned on a 50 mile race, The North Face 50 miler, just outside of San Francisco, CA to be my first ultra....
Rocky Raccoon 100 Training: Week 15 Recap

Saturday: 62 Miles
Sunday: Rest
Planned: 72 Miles with 3 days rest

Pretty happy with how the week turned out after having to take two weeks off right before my Cajun Coyote 100k race. I even had a surplus of miles since I ran that 10 on Monday to test...
I am alive!
Well as you know, if you follow my wife, I made it. 100k Cajun Coyote done! I will follow up with a race report later. I feel pretty good as long as I stay moving. Once I sit still for a bit, everything starts to get tight.
I hit the indoor recumbent bike this morning for a very slow 30 min spin. It was so slow I did it in jeans and a long sleeve t-shirt without breaking a sweat, all while...
